Unusual CEO Departure

I have been getting this newsletter from exechange on reasons given for why CEOs depart. I wrote about this here previously. In a recent newsletter starting off the new year, there was an analysis of a co-CEO departure which was a first. The co-CEO Rubin Ritter of Zalando, a shoe and fashion company and one of Europe’s largest e-commerce companies, said he is stepping down before his contract ends in order to let his wife’s job take priority. Ritter said: "My wife and I have agreed that for the coming years, her professional ambitions should take priority.” Ritter has been co-CEO with two others for 11 years. He plans to spend the time off with his growing family. Pretty great story. A good ending to a disastrous week in the US Capitol.
