First 100 Day Twist
This turned my head. I regularly check in to see what’s new when it comes to the First 100 Days of CEOs. Whether some new CEO is doing something differently or has added a new twist to the fairly standard playbook. Last week I saw something which I liked because it was a twist on the 100 Day theme. Instead of observing what CEOs or other top executives are doing in their first 100 days, I saw that the employees of Arcadis are letting us in on what they think of their first 100 days. Arcadis is a global engineering firm based in Amsterdam.
New employees are featured such as Hans, Nathan, Leonard and Bridget. Each has a different type of position at the company – project director, geologist, staff civil engineer, etc. Each new employee basically answers these few questions and they are featured in a simple template on Facebook where I found them.
Q. How would you describe your first few months?
Q. What makes Arcadis different from other places where you have worked?
Q. What is your vision for your new role?
Q. What are you looking forward to in your first 100 days?
Q. How do you plan to contribute to quality of life? (Improving quality of life is their mission)
The last slide of the short video deck implores talent to start their first 100 days with Arcadis.
This series is an interesting way to institute employer branding and relay the hopes and aspirations of the new talent pool. I thought it was effective in introducing why to join the firm. I definitely liked its simplicity and non-fussiness. Lots of these types of talent recruitment efforts get too polished and as a result, less credible.
